HOLLAND, Mich., May 4, 2018 – Holland has been singled out for recognition as a Military Friendly Employer by VIQTORY, which, since 2003, has created its annual list of companies meeting its criteria for the designation. Being named as a recipient affirms Holland’s commitment to implementing ongoing, focused efforts to recruit, hire, and train veterans and help them translate their military competencies into civilian careers.
“We know from experience that veterans make great employees,” said Scott Ware, President of Holland. “We are proud to be named a Military Friendly Employer, but we are even prouder to have our former-military employees as part of the Holland team. We are deeply grateful for their past service to our country and equally grateful for the part they play in providing outstanding service to our customers.”
To be named a Military Friendly Employer, companies must meet or exceed the standards in at least three out of four critical areas of commitment to the military community, including:
- Recruiting, hiring, and training veterans
- Recruiting, hiring, and training military spouses
- Partnering with and supporting Veteran-Owned Businesses
- Commitment to military consumer protections and having a positive brand reputation in the military community
In addition to a focused effort to find and recruit veterans, Holland supports veterans and their families in cooperative activities with veteran-support organizations, company events recognizing veterans, and even apparel available to Holland employees identifying them as past members of the military.
First presented in 2003, VIQTORY’s Military Friendly Employer designation is based on extensive research using public data sources for thousands of federal contractors nationwide, input of military employees, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly Employers survey from participating companies.
