Holland Named 2017 Military Friendly® Employer

Dec. 7, 2016 ÔÇô Holland is proud to have earned the 2017 Military Friendly┬« Employer designation by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs┬«, STEM Jobs(WM), and Military Spouse. First published in 2003, Military Friendly┬« Employers is the most comprehensive, powerful resource for veterans today. Holland is committed to hiring and building career successes for members of the military.

Victory Media named Holland a 2017 Military Friendly® Employer in its most recent listing of companies that go above and beyond in their efforts to employ members of the military and their families. The 2017 Military Friendly® Employers and Schools lists are available online and have been printed in the December issue of G.I. Jobs®, the January 2017 issue of Military Spouse Magazine, and in the Guide to Military Friendly® Schools.

The Military Friendly® brand is nationally recognized as being the original, trusted source on post-military education and employment options for veterans and military families.

This recognition is the latest in a number of honors earned by Holland related to the company’s long-standing commitment to support veterans and their families. ┬á

Holland is committed to hiring military talent, knowing first-hand that recruiting veterans and military spouses is not only the “right thing to do,” but the right thing for business. “Quite simply, veterans make great employees,” said Scott Ware, president of Holland. “Many of the traits and skills of successful members of the military are the same traits and skills that ensure their success here at Holland. In addition to a focused effort to find and recruit veterans, Holland supports veterans and their families in cooperative activities with veteran-support organizations, company events recognizing veterans, and even apparel available to Holland employees identifying them as past members of the military.

The Victory Media selection process evaluates each company’s efforts related to veterans in three categories:

  • Engages in active outreach through veteran recruiting events and programs
  • Provides veteran employees with the training and support needed to succeed
  • Offers veterans meaningful employment

About Military Friendly® Employers: The Military Friendly® Employers list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for thousands of federal contractors nationwide, input of military employees, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly® Employers survey from participating companies. The survey questions, methodology, criteria and weightings were developed by Victory Media with the assistance of an independent research firm and an advisory council of educators and employers.
