Holland employees, tractor-trailer, coverage map, forklift driver, guaranteed optionsNext-day LTL shipping is nothing new for Holland. Our network, systems and equipment are built to meet the speed of next-day deliveries.

And because next-day service is our primary focus, our people know how to do it extremely well.

Our seasoned sales team and customer service representatives understand what it takes to keep next-day shipments moving and can provide insights on ways we can work together to meet your objectives.

Our decisions regarding the location and layout of our service centers and the professionals who drive our equipment and work on our docks all share the same goal: move shipments quickly.

Even our online tools reinforce our commitment to next-day service.

When scheduling online, you'll find the question typically is not whether you want next-day service, but what time the next day you want the shipment to arrive. Beyond standard next-day delivery, Holland offers several options for guaranteed and expedited deliveries, including Guaranteed Before 9 AM, Before Noon, and Before 3:30 PM, as well as hour or day Window Delivery service.

The mobile device technology that our drivers use keeps information moving at the same speed as your shipment and enables status updates and automatic delivery notifications.

"The work praises the man"--Irish proverb

2 million miles without a preventable accident, Holland tractor trailer over globeBy the end of 2010, nine men joined the elite group of almost 100 of those logging 2 million miles as Holland drivers without a preventable accident. To achieve that milestone takes a passion for safe driving and a lot of years in the driver's seat of a Holland power unit!

After all, driving 2 million miles is the equivalent of more than eight trips to the moon, or about 80 trips around the Earth's equator. Typically, it takes a driver 20 years to accomplish the feat.

We think that exceptional customer service begins with exceptional employees. We're proud that Holland successfully provides the kind of work and an environment that leads to satisfying careers for so many professional drivers.

Please join us in congratulating our drivers who recently reached the 2-million mile threshold:

  • Thomas Kennard, Dayton, Ohio
  • Russell ZickeFoose, Des Moines, Iowa
  • Vachel Taylor, Evansville, Ind.
  • Steven Oldham, Indianapolis
  • Leslie Hall, Louisville, Ky.
  • Thomas Baker, Memphis, Tenn.
  • Paul Brittain, Raleigh, N.C.
  • Robert Capps, St. Louis
  • Alan Emerick, Youngstown, Ohio

To bring this dedication of service to your business, visit our  website or call 1-866-465-5263.

Holland drivers on safety

Herschel Evans"If you were going to the dentist, and he was talking on the phone or texting while drilling on your teeth, you'd come unglued. You'd be incensed. Yet, people get out on the highway where we have many more lives in our hands and do the same thing . . . The people who are veering or coming close to bumping into somebody—almost without fail, there will be a cell phone in their hands."

Delivering an exceptional customer experience

Lurie (Lou) Williams, Cleveland "Sometimes we're referred to as the 'cowboys' in the industry, because we do things a little differently . . . we go beyond what's necessary. It's our work ethic," says Lurie "Lou" Williams, Cleveland.

Lou gives the example of the way we load trailers so that some shipments aren't touched at all until they reach the destination service center. "It cuts down on damage that way," Lou explains.

A professional driver with Holland since 1997, Lou currently is on "permanent" assignment at a customer's facility, personally loading three or four Holland trailers a day. "It keeps me in shape!" he says. "And I enjoy it, it keeps me busy, which is much better than sitting around."

Known for having a bit of a sweet tooth, Lou regularly brings in big bags of candy which he shares with others. "They call me the 'Candy Man' here." Lou admits with a laugh. "I put handfuls of candy on everyone's desks, and they know they can always get more."

Lou and JimIn 2010, Lou was nominated by his co-workers and selected by Holland leadership for the coveted "I Am Holland" award, which is presented each year to those employees who demonstrate the Holland core values at a distinctly high level.

Lou is just one example of the people and service that keep customers coming back to Holland.

A Place Holland Calls Home

Cleveland

Ohio map with Cleveland highlighted, sites of interestCleveland may be home to 12 Fortune 500 manufacturers and two institutions of higher learning, but for many, the siren's call to this city on the southern shore of Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

In 1986, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation selected Cleveland as its permanent home and engaged Architect I.M. Pei to design the museum.

Following its mission to educate on the history and continuing significance of rock and roll music, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum opened in September 1995. Since then, more than 8 million people have experienced an impressive collection of artifacts, interactive kiosks, film and video, and music.

Holland also calls Cleveland home, first opening its doors in 1980. Today, Cleveland is one of the largest outbound service centers in the Holland network with 102 dock doors and a next-day reach from Appleton, Wis., to St. Louis, Toronto to Raleigh, N.C.

"Our location is key, and big manufacturers want the support structure of next-day service," says Mike Dzura, service center manager. "We're good at what we do, we have a seasoned staff, and we're dedicated to delivering the best service!"

Holland knows Cleveland, and shippers know they can count on Holland, the leader in next-day service.

Tips to Make Your Life Easier

A word of advance

laptop showing Holland home pageAdvance information about your shipments helps Holland support your need for transportation speed and precision.

It ensures we have the correct equipment with sufficient capacity at your dock when your shipment is available for pickup.

This is critical when shipping food items, which must be transported under conditions that protect them from possible contamination or exposure to poisons.

Now, when you schedule a pickup using hollandregional.com, recent enhancements to the site let you notify us up front if you're shipping food or poisons. That way, you can avoid possible delays, knowing that the trailer that reaches your dock will not contain other goods which could compromise your shipment.

Regardless of what you're shipping, advance notice always helps us deliver an exceptional customer experience. Whether you use our online tools or phone or fax us to schedule a pickup, the following advance information lets us be prepared for your shipment:

  • Time of day when shipment will be available for pickup
  • Time of day when you close or stop shipping
  • Exact piece count for skids, cartons, drums, totes, etc.
  • Weight and destination ZIP code for each individual shipment
